Our recent stay at Broken Spoke was everything we expected. Upon arrival the cabin was neatly cleaned and as described. The views from the deck were amazing. It’s located about 15 minutes from town, so it’s quiet enough for a getaway yet close enough to run into town for shopping, eating, and exploring. Also it’s only a short drive to Gatlinburg. Would definitely consider booking again if we return to Pigeon Forge.
We are so glad you had a nice vacation in the Great Smoky Mountains. We agree. We love the way the cabin feels like you are far off into the mountains yet, in no time at all you can be in Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
Just outside of Pigeon Forge with a quiet setting that allowed us to relax and enjoy some peace.
Sometimes when I read these reviews I wish I were at the cabin right now. I think everyone needs a nice relaxing vacation from time to time. We are so glad you got the chance to have a relaxing peaceful vacation in Legacy Mountain Resort. I also really enjoy gazing at those beautiful Smoky Mountains. It does give me a relaxing peaceful feeling. I am always torn between doing many of the wonderful activities in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg or just staying at the cabin and enjoying some down time. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
We really enjoyed our stay at Broken Spoke! The views were great and the cabin was perfect. We will definitely look forward to our next visit!
We love to hear that people found our cabin "Broken Spoke" perfect. We enjoyed helping you have a great Smoky Mountain Vacation.
We decided to come down to the smokies for our honeymoon since our original honeymoon destination was damaged from the recent hurricanes. We could not have been happier With our choice to stay at "Broken Spoke". While the cabin was out enough to give you the mountain feel and beautiful scenery, it was still a close enough drive to Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and all of the popular destinations. The cabin was very clean and well kept. The back porch view is second to none. The owners were very helpful in providing pertinent information and directions prior to arrival. We would recommend it to anyone!
We are so honored that you decided to spend your honeymoon with us in the Gatlinburg / Pigeon Forge area. It sounds like you enjoyed your stay. We too feel it is just far enough away from the Pigeon Forge Parkway and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park to feel like you are out in the middle of nowhere. Yet close enough to be in the middle of the action in no time. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
We were only in the cabin in the evenings. It was very enjoyable for the adults and the kids.
We are always torn between doing any one of the many things to do in the Pigeon Forge / Gatlinburg area and staying in the beautiful cabin and enjoying the amenities and the views of the Great Smoky Mountains. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
A great cabin with an amazing view. When the the weather was bad there was plenty to do inside the cabin. I'll come back.
We actually love the view after a rain storm. We love to watch the "Smoke" settle into the valleys and over the mountains. We try to think of things that our guests will enjoy doing together when the weather is bad. Sometimes, this gives us the opportunity to do some good family bonding. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
A wonderful place to spend a few days of quiet while being within a short drive of all the amenities that the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg have to offer. Clean, attractive and comfortable. Well priced as well. Wouldn't hesitate to go back.
It sounds like you had a good mix of relaxation and also took the time to enjoy everything the Pigeon Forge / Gatlinburg area has to offer. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
Very easy to work with the owners/manager! :) Cabin super clean and gorgeous!!! Couldn't ask for anything better! It was truly home away from home! Had everything we needed and wanted! We fell in love with Tennessee! Cannot wait to go back! Already planning our next trip! Thank you so much for everything!!!!! -Love The Eldringhoffs 2017❤️
We love to hear that our guests felt right at home. We try to think of everything you may need to have one of your best vacations ever. We felt exactly like you when we first came to the area and are now feel so lucky to have a vacation home in such a wonderful area. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
I would stay here again and again. The pictures do not do this cabin justice, it's more than what I expected and very well cared for. I have stayed at several over the years and this one is by far my favorite!
So glad you enjoyed "Broken Spoke" and we rank as your favorite Smoky Mountain Cabin. We love to help people have one of their best vacations ever. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
I wish we could have stayed longer! It was a beautiful cabin in a gorgeous community closed to great trails and attractions, we loved every minute of it. I would have loved to stay 2 more days and just stay in the cabin and enjoy the view and serenity of the place! We will be back soon!!!
We are so glad you enjoyed every minute of your Smoky Mountain Vacation. We have learned to schedule a little bit of time at the cabin relaxing and enjoying the Mountain Views. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
My 19-year-old son said it was a 10 out of 10 and we all loved it! It was probably our favorite part of our weeklong vacation. We had an exciting activity planned for every day but it was so nice to just come home to the relaxing atmosphere and spectacular views of broken spoke and enjoy down time with our family (5 adults). We actually wished we had planned less and chilled more.
I am the type of person who likes to do as many things as I can on vacation. I like to plan ahead of time so I don't miss anything. My husband likes to relax on vacation. We found that this area is the perfect combination. There are so many things to do in the area, we still haven't done everything on our bucket list. I also schedule down time now. I really don't mind sitting and relaxing while gazing at those beautiful mountains.
We enjoyed everything about our stay at Broken Spoke. The owners made sure everything was perfect for us. The cabin is well built and very welcoming as well as spotless. Everything we needed was available and the owners did a terrific job of relaying info and offering suggestions for our stay. The view is awesome and we had fun on the balcony, watching all the 4th of July fireworks going off below us. We have rented many cabins over the years and Broken Spoke ranks at the top.
We love to hear that our guests have enjoyed everything about their stay. We strive to give our cabins a welcoming feeling. We want you to feel right at home. We are glad you found our recommendations useful. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
Our family had a great time at Broken Spoke. The views from the deck speak for themselves. Excellent communication from management handled schedule change and minor difficulty unlocking the cabin. Game room with pool table was a nice escape. Easy access to Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and the National Park, yet far enough away from the hustle and bustle. Truly in the middle of natural beauty. Never the same view twice, even with some rain. The beds were all comfortable and everything was clean and in good working order. Terrific family room overlooking the mountains where we spent most of our time, not spent at the park. The washer/dryer, dishwasher, and A/C worked like you'd expect. The whole cabin is western themed, decorated beautifully. Wished there were HDMI ports on the main TV, as we wanted to review pictures and videos taken during the day. That would be our biggest improvement. Would definitely recommend. Great adventure, except for falling on rock at Laurel Falls and tearing my rotator cuff. Even had good access to the LeConte Medical Center ER.
So sorry you had to visit the ER while on your vacation. Glad you could find what you needed in the way of care in The Great Smoky Mountains. It sounds like you made the most of your vacation though. The nice thing about the area is that you can do so much or you can do as little as you want. Taking it easy and recovering from an injury is not so bad when you have those beautiful mountain views. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
We stayed 3 nights and let me just say this place is amazing! From top to bottom it was spotless. Beds are comfortable and very nice. Decorations were amazing. We will be coming back!
We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We look forward to working with you again.
We stayed at the Broken Spoke for three nights in April. The cabin was spacious, comfortable and very clean. The beds were comfortable and cozy. There are plenty of pillows and blankets. The kitchen is large and each bedroom is large. There was an air hockey table upstairs in the loft and a pool table in the bottom room and several rocking chairs on the back porch. It was a nice layout if traveling with another couple or if you have a teen that wants their own space. This is in a very convenient location. We never got stuck in traffic going to Pigeon Forge, Dollywood, or Gatlinburg. You can get anywhere easily and avoid the congestion if you like. If you plan on doing alot of cooking during your stay, the cookware is a little limited but there is a small charcoal grill outside and plenty of grill accessories to cook with (tongs, spatula). Also there is no plasticware to store food in but you can buy the disposable ones at the store. The only other comment is the downstairs seems to get really cold due to being on the bottom floor but it has a seperate AC/heat unit so you can adjust accordingly. Also the balcony only goes out from the bottom floor and not the main living room floor (that would have been perfect). The resort was clean and seemed very safe. The unit had a outdoor light that came on with motion that lit up the front parking area. Also, the owners did a great job of checking in and communicating all the way through the process. I wouldn't hesitate to book this cabin again!
Thank you for that thorough review. I am sure future guest will find it helpful. We too love the location. We have found that we rarely need to go out onto the Pigeon Forge Parkway. If you take a left out of Legacy Mountain Resort, you come to the intersection of Pittman Center Road, Birds Creek Road and Upper Middle Creek Road in a little under a mile. From there, you can take a left and you will parallel the parkway and go on up into Sevierville. Or, you can take a right and in a few miles you will be in the Arts and Craft Community of Gatlinburg. Thanks for the tip about leftovers. I will add this to my packing list that I send out to people. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay.
This cabin is worth a visit to. The views are spectacular! The pictures reflect the actual view. The cabin was very easy to find, and is located close enough to town if you need anything. This cabin was too big for just me and my boyfriend, but nonetheless we really enjoyed our time there (it can sleep 8). The afternoon sunshine beams in through the windows and really warms the place up. The whirlpool tub was nice and clean, and was just as relaxing as the hot tub. In the morning, lots of birds chirp and roosters let you know they are out there. In the evening, we heard hunting hound dogs in the distance. The only advice I would give to future visitors is to bring containers for your left overs if you plan to make any meals in the cabin. Thanks for sharing this cabin with us! -Teri and Eric
We too enjoy the early mornings listening to the roosters and birds. The deck is the perfect place to start your day with a nice cup of coffee and beautiful Smoky Mountain View. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
Beautiful cabin located conveniently to attractions and the national park. The cabin was very clean and comfortable for our entire family. Owners were responsive and communicated promptly and professionally throughout the entire process from initial contact to checking on us during the stay and ensuring all was to our liking at the end of the stay. Overall, a great experience! Highly recommended!
We are so glad you felt comfortable in our cabin. We try to make you feel right at home while on your vacation. We too love the location. Just far enough away from the Pigeon Forge Parkway to feel like you are way out in the country, but close enough to be in the middle of the action in no time. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
Very impressive property. Lovely living space and extremely clean. I wish the cabin was more engrossed within the forestry - but the huge back windows and the porch the offered phenomenal views. I would definitely recommend this property to visitors!
We are so glad you loved the cabin inside and out. We have to agree that we do have some of the best views of the Great Smoky Mountains. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
A beautiful getaway! The cabin was very clean and the view was gorgeous! Would definetly stay again!
We loved or stay at Broken Spoke. The cabin is set up very nicely if traveling with seperate friends or family. It's very beautiful and decorated so nicely. Everything was very clean and the view was unreal! I can only imagine what it looks like in the fall or when there is snow on the ground. Thanks to Ray and Kelley for being so helpful and accomodating!
We are so glad you loved your stay. The mountains in the distance are snow covered in the winter which is a beautiful site. Autumn is really magnificent. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
My husband and I were celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary. Having lived in Florida my entire life I have never seen snow, so this trip was planned with the hope in mind for snowy weather. Along with snowy dreams-Paved access and proximity to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg were 2 of the main reasons we chose to stay at Broken Spoke. What ultimately sold us was the pictures of the view. Let me just say that even though the online pictures were amazing- it just doesn't compare to the actual view which was stunning! The cabin itself was just as pictured and had all the right supplies and amenities. Communication with Ray and Mary Beth was pretty simple-they sent detailed instructions which left us with no question or confusion so there was really no need for further communication. I spoke with Jim the handyman (very friendly guy) briefly about a lightbulb on the porch, but we just did a quick swap from a bedroom lamp which solved the problem (for us anyway). I cannot say enough good things about our stay. We fell completely in love with the town and cannot wait to plan our next trip. Thanks for the memories!
We are so glad that you loved your stay. The area did get some snow on January 7th. The people staying extended their trip because they wanted to see the snow. It doesn't really snow too much in the area. It averages about 3 inches in January and 1 inch in February. However, the higher elevations (Like Clingman's Dome) do get some snow. You can actually see snow capped mountains in the distance which is always beautiful. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
We enjoyed our stay at Broken Spoke. The cabin was close to everything and the views were spectacular!!
One of the reasons we purchased in Legacy Mountain Resort is the proximity to everything you would like to do in the area. I especially like the way you can go on the back roads instead of the Pigeon Forge Parkway. This is very helpful during peak seasons. Another main reason is of course the views. I never tire of those magnificent Smoky Mountains.
My husband and I, grown children and grandchildren enjoyed our Christmas vacation at Broken Spoke. The cabin was clean, had most everything we needed. We all enjoyed the pool table and air hockey! The view from the main floor and from the balcony is gorgeous! The location is great. So much to do! We will be back! Thanks!
We just love to hear that multiple generations vacation together. No doubt you and your family made some great memories. I agree there is so much to do in Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and Sevierville. I have been coming for years and still haven't done everything on my bucket list. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
This was a fantastic mountain getaway for my husband and I to help us celebrate our one year wedding anniversary. We were visiting from Florida and we were looking for something away from it all. This was the place! The 'Broken Spoke' was in a perfect location, close to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. It was had very easy access to all the Great Smoky Mountains National Park has to offer. The cabin had a great "home away from home" feeling. We purchased food for the week at the nearby Food City and cooked many of our meals at the cabin. Coffee on the deck in the morning was so peaceful! The hot tub was awesome to soak in after hiking and sight seeing. Thank you so much! We will definitely keep this place in mind for future getaways!
We are so honored that you chose "Broken Spoke" for your one year wedding anniversary. It is so nice to see people getting away every year to celebrate their marriage. I agree that coffee on the deck in the morning is a must do thing while on vacation. I love the way it is so quiet and peaceful yet you are so close to all that Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg has to offer. I enjoy listening to the roosters in the morning from the deck. I also enjoy watching the animals in the valley. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
I have never seen a more beautiful view in my life! I hated to leave! The cabin was gorgeous and decorated so well.... and clean!!! It was only about a 6 mile drive to Pigeon Forge to get groceries and go to restaurants. I would have rather just stayed at the cabin to eat so I could see the best view in the area. My family and I will definitely be back!!!
My husband is the type of person that enjoys doing a lot of relaxing while on vacation. Vacation to me is something to be conquered. I enjoy investigating things to do and trying to jam in as many things as possible. This area is a great combination for us. I don't mind lounging around if I am gazing at those beautiful mountains. And, there are so many things to do in the area that there are still many things left on my bucket list for Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Thank you for your wonderful review.
We really enjoyed our stay at your beautiful cabin. It was decorated beautifully and very clean. The views were spectacular. Privacy was amazing since there were other cabins around us. However, the trees still had their leaves so we couldn't even see the cabins next to us, unlike most of the other cabins there. We would stay at "Broken Spoke" if we come back. There was a building in view from the cabin which looked like a castle. We never did find out what it was. Do you know? #651701 Thomas and Patricia B.
I just love to hear from guests like you. I could hear in your voice how much of a good time you were having and I can read it in your review. Your enthusiasm is catchy. Thank you for your kind words about our cabin. The story I give my children is that it is indeed a 'castle'. We invent all different kinds of stories. We got the real story from the Legacy Mountain Zip Line instructor. The home was a drug lords house. He was arrested and the home was turned into 4 apartments. I like the Castle story better.
We loved this cabin and the Legacy Mountain resort! It's our favorite vicinity to stay. Working with Ray and Mary Beth was flawless. The cabin was well equipped and very clean! The main floor has a wall of windows that show the stunning view of Mt. LeConte from anywhere you sit. The location is only minutes from any attraction in Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely return!
Thank you for your kind review. We try to think of everything our guests would need or want to enjoy their Smoky Mountain Vacation. We love Legacy Mountain Resorts location as well. When we sit on the deck we feel far out in the mountains yet we are very close to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. We look forward to working with you in the future.
We really enjoyed our stay in your cabin. It was spacious and beautifully decorated. Everything you look for in a vacation property was present. A well-appointed kitchen that was completely open to the dining and living areas. The main level living area has a wall of windows that provide a stunning view of the mountains. The lower level included a pool table, TV, wet bar and balcony (with the same stunning view). The balcony has rocking chairs for relaxing and enjoying the view (great place for morning coffee). The balcony area also came equipped with a hot tub. There was even a spacious loft bedroom with a foosball table. The cabin location is convenient to the arts and crafts areas as well as downtown Gatlinburg. Perfect!
We love to hear that our guests had a wonderful time in our Smoky Mountain Vacation Cabin. We are so glad that you had everything you needed to enjoy your time in the Pigeon Forge / Gatlinburg area. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
The property looks just as good as the pictures. I only wish there was a deck off of the middle floor as well as the bottom floor.it would have made drinking coffee in the morning that much better.
We are so happy you enjoyed your stay at Broken Spoke in Legacy Mountain Resort. I do so enjoy drinking coffee out on the deck in the mornings. It is great to sit and enjoy the scenery of the Great Smoky Mountains. At home I am always rushing off to do something in the mornings. The huge windows on the main level do allow you to see the view from almost anywhere on the main level. It is really nice for those cold days in the winter when sitting outside is not as enjoyable.
Hi my name is Brittany and I just visited the broken spoke cabin with my boyfriend, my best friend and her boyfriend. First, as soon as I walked in I knew this place would take my breath away and every room I walked into that is exactly what happened. From the loft upstairs with a air hockey table to the living room with an incredible view of the mountains to a back porch with a jacuzzi over looking the mountains as well. They had chairs on the back porch to enjoy some coffee in the morning and listen to the dogs bark and the chickens "cockadoodledoo." This trip was perfect and I must say this is a go to cabin and a must do experience, if I go back I will go back to the same cabin!!
I always enjoy reading how several people come together in the mountains. What a great idea to take a Smoky Mountain vacation with another couple or extended family. No doubt it makes the trip to Gatlinburg / Sevierville / Pigeon Forge so much more enjoyable. I too love sitting on the deck and listening. At home my husband always has music on when we are outside. Here, I just love listening to the nature. I have heard a bear roar before from the deck. I was happy I was up off the ground at that point. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
Dad's review: We would absolutely recommend this property! Our family of five just returned from a week long stay at Broken Spoke. Absolutely enjoyed our time on the mountain with stunning views from dawn to dusk. Our boys loved the air hockey loft. Our daughter enjoyed the porch: relaxing at the hot tub or reading on the rocking chairs. Wife and I were big fans of the cabin's three floor layout which lead to quality family time and enough privacy to rest. Easy drive to Gatlinburg, Cades Cove, Petting Zoo/Horseback riding, the Apple Barn, Dollywood; and only an hour drive to whitewater rafting in Hartford, TN. Our one slight issue: the toilet on the main level hard for the kids (aged under 10) to operate. Adult strength to flush the handle. Mom's review: I enjoyed staying in this property, the boys stayed in the loft, so we could hear them whispering when it was bedtime :) We stayed in the basement master bedroom, I liked that none of the kids could get onto the deck without us knowing since we were on that floor. Stayed in one night to eat popcorn and watched a movie. Easy drive to everywhere. Besides the sticky toilet, the only other thing to keep in mind is there are two bathrooms: one master in the basement bedroom, and the one in the bedroom on the main level. Which meant if guests sleeping in loft (or visitors) have to either go into the bedroom on the main level, or to the basement bathroom, which has two entrances, one from pool table room, and one from bedroom. For our family, that wasn't an issue, but other guests should be aware of it.
It sounds like you took the time to enjoy everything. When you mentioned hot showers, it reminds me of when the weather starts to turn cold and I can enjoy hot showers and soup again. It is a very exciting time for me. It sounds like you got to enjoy many of the activities in the Gatlinburg / Pigeon Forge / Sevierville area yet still took time to enjoy the cabin. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
This was a great place for some well needed R&R, the facility had everything you would need for a long visit. Close to to both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, yet you don't have the hustle and bustle. Every morning you wake up and look out the beautiful views, see why they call it "Smokey Mountains" as the fog and clouds move in and out of the mountains ranges. Simply gorgeous. In the evenings the weather was just perfect to sit out on the deck and listen and watch as the sun goes down. Sit in the Hot Tub and relax unwind from the day, that was "oh so nice". Play pool or Air hockey with the kids. We enjoyed everyday and night, too bad it had to end. So much to see and do but didn't have the time this time. Look forward to doing this again, perhaps having a family reunion. Couldn't be a better place for all ages. Adults will love the site seeing, kids will love Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, everyone will have a great time.
We are so glad you loved the place. We try to think of everything that a vacationing guest could want or need on their Smoky Mountain Vacation. The Gatlinburg / Piigeon Forge / Sevierville area really does have something for every age. There really is so much to see and do that you can enjoy the area again and again and never do the same thing twice. Although, you probably will want to enjoy your favorite activities every time you visit. It is always nice to come back "home" to our beautiful cabin and enjoy the amenities and the view. We look forward to working with you again in the future.
The view from this place is stunning! Although we only stayed for a few short days we enjoyed the place, location etc... The only negative is that the carpet looks very dirty and could stand to be replaced which we feel affects the overall feel of the place. Other than that, no complaints.
We have to agree, the view of Mt. LeConte and the Great Smoky Mountains is stunning. Thank you for pointing out the carpets being dirty. We will look into getting them professionally cleaned. We appreciate you taking the time to leave a review.
We had a great stay for our family reunion - we spent a good a good bit cooking and there was everything available for us to use. Our son enjoyed the views and watched his favorite cartoons ! The jacuzzi was nice too and we spent our evenings and mornings on the porch having coffee. For fun, we did dollywood for a day and also the Old mill square. Food was great at the old mill restaurant and better priced! We bought some trinkets and pottery cups from the shopping plazas. There is a lot to do in pigeon forge and we will be back later for a longer stay! Cabin made it extra cozy for our travels.
It sounds like you have made many wonderful memories. We are so glad you were able to get in lots of activities and still have time to relax and enjoy the Smokies.
Our family of four, three adults and a six-year-old, booked Broken Spoke for a week and loved every minute we were in the cabin. Two sets of friends popped in while we were there to h help fill up the cabin for a couple of the evenings. As stated previously the view is fantastic and diverse, depending on the weather. Even when it's raining the low cloud cover adds another dimension. Our goal for this vacation was hiking and the location is central to many outstanding hiking trails in the area. On what was supposed to be our last day we simply did not wan to leave the beauty and splendor of the area and we were fortunate that the next day was still available. All the amenities were good quality and in good working order. Internet was reliable and extremely fast. Simply put, you're getting value for the money you're paying.
We often feel the same on our last day in the cabin. It is never enough time. There is so much to do in the Pigeon Forge / Gatlinburg area that we often don't get the opportunity to enjoy the cabin. One of my favorite activities is sitting on the deck just gazing at the Great Smoky Mountains. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
All I can say Ali's we had 3 adults and 2 kids and we didn't want to leave. My dad and I would get up all 7 mornings at like 5:30am to sit on the balcony and watch the sun rise until like 8:30am and then again in the evening to watch it set. The place was clean and well stocked. We cooked many meals there and they had everything we needed. We had one AC issue on Friday night at like 9pm when we returned home to find the AC dead. I called the maintenance man who arrived with 15 minutes, fixed it within an hour. Great place we will be returning.
We are so honored that you were able to make such wonderful memories with your father at "Broken Spoke". No doubt you will always cherries this time you have spent with your father gazing at the Great Smoky Mountains while enjoying each others company. We look forward to having you back again on your next vacation.
My family and I really enjoyed staying at the Broken Spoke cabin! Our favorite thing about it was the amazing view of the mountains! It had everything we needed to make our stay wonderful- it was clean, lots of kitchen stuff available for cooking/grilling, TVs in every room, big beds, and a pool table and air hockey table that we had fun playing with our kids. Its location is easy to get to and less than 10 minutes away from Pigeon Forge. Management provided lots of helpful details and answered emails very quickly. I would definitely recommend staying at this cabin! We hope to come back for another stay again soon! Tina Napier
We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. It sounds like you made wonderful memories with your family at Broken Spoke and in the Great Smoky Mountains. We look forward to working with you again in the future.
We so enjoyed our stay at Broken Spoke. Ray and Mary Beth provided very useful information prior to our stay, which made our planning effortless. The location is easy to find and a quick drive to all the hot spots, yet feels secluded up in the mountains. The cabin is adorable and holds all the necessities - we felt right at home! It's so cozy and offers the most beautiful views. Next time, we're staying longer! ;)
Thank you very much for that wonderful review. We are so glad we helped to make your vacation "effortless". Our goal is to have people feel right at home. It sounds like you were able to enjoy the Great Smoky Mountains, all the "Hot Spots" that Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg offers and still had time to enjoy the views from Broken Spoke. We look forward to working with you again in the future.
Our stay was wonderful. Beautiful cabin with the most wonderful views of the Smokies! Close to everything in Pigeon Forge but secluded at the cabin. I would recommend to anyone traveling to the Smoky Mountains!
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We feel our cabin is private because of its unique position on the mountain. However, it is in a resort with many other cabins. I can understand what you are saying though. When I am on the balcony looking out over those beautiful Smoky Mountains, I feel like I am way out in the middle of nowhere. It is very humbling.
The cabin is exactly as the pictures show. The views are amazing. The location is only a short drive to town, close enough, yet far enough away. Everything in the cabin worked as it should. Other cabins in the area, but never intrusive, very private in the cabin.
We agree that the location is ideal. It is just far enough away from Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge to feel like you are out in the middle of the mountains, yet close enough that you are within a short drive from all of the action. The cabin is in a resort setting with many other cabins around. However, the resort is very quiet and the cabins are so well built that once you are inside, you do not even know you have neighbors. It sounds like you had a great vacation. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
For starters Mary Beth was awesome to deal with...very informative.. The cabin even had a book with easy directions to local places. Now for the cabin...it truly looks like the pictures!! The views change during the day...such tranquility..really uplifting makes you appreciate God's beautiful creations. Cades Cove is a must see!!! Lots of history..truly feels like a step back in time. We also seen Bear with a cub...then we saw 2 baby cubs with mama!!!and lots of deer. I liked the jacuzzi it oversized and had stand up shower.I have stayed several times in the area but always secluded none had this kind of view and the rodes were scary. The rode in this resort is wide .There are other cabins but around but that wasn't a problem you really didn't notice ...my teenage kids were impressed!!! Will definitely be back..ohhh and the décor is awesome loved it...comfy beds. Real wood furniture..And there is something for everyone to do locally. Thanks for sharing your home with my family
Cabin is in a great location close to both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Nicely decorated and clean, with a spectacular view of the mountains! Pool room was fun, but only had seating for 2 people and we had 8 in our group. Biggest downfall was that there are only 2 bathrooms, and both are off bedrooms. It was a disruption when kids had to use the main floor bathroom and had to walk through a bedroom where people were sleeping to use it.
We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. We love the location as well. It is just far enough away to make you feel like you are out in the middle of nowhere. Yet close enough to be in the middle of the action in no time. So sorry that you did not understand the bathroom situation before your arrival. I guess you missed my initial email before you booked explaining the bathroom situation to you. "There are two bathrooms. The main level bathroom is accessed through the main level king master suite. The lower level bathroom can be accessed through the pool table/game room or through the bedroom". I send this out to everyone who inquires so there are no surprises when you arrive. The only surprises we want are pleasant surprises. For larger parties like yours, I usually reiterate this. However, your inquiry stated two adults and two children. I was not aware that there were 8 in your party until you left a review. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
What a relaxing Easter vacation we had!! This cabin was super and we enjoyed spending time with our family! The location gives you a beautiful view of the mountain and close to go hiking into the smokeys and close to activities! Each room is decorated very nice and the cabin had everything that we needed! Extra throw blankets were a plus, pool table, hockey table and super chair rockers to enjoy the view and a great hot tub! We will definitely want to come back!
We just love it when we hear people refer to "Broken Spoke" as their "home away from home". We are so glad you felt that way. My husbands idea of vacation is to relax. My idea is to see and do as many things as possible in the time you have. Legacy Mountain Resort is the perfect combination of the two. There are so many things to do in the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area that we have not hit everything I want to do yet. We have been going for years. Plus my husband gets his way because I actually enjoy sitting on the deck relaxing with a cup of coffee or wine and gazing at those beautiful mountains. I have even been known to be out there on the deck bundle up in a blanket in the winter. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We look forward to working with you again.
Love, love, love this cabin. Make sure you eat at Dunn's market and Grill at the bottom of the Mountain. They have great home cooking.
Thank you for the review. So glad you loved the cabin. I have never eaten at Dunn's Market. It is less than a mile from the entrance to Legacy Mountain Resort. I will definitely need to check that out.
My husband, Mom, Dad and I stayed in this beautiful cabin for 4 nights and just loved it. The view is gorgeous!! Also, we loved the Aspen style furniture. The location was very good and easily accessed. We took Teaster Lane alot and stayed off the main highway in Pigeon Forge. This cabin spoiled me and I don't want to stay in a place without a view in the future. I would highly recommend this cabin for a great vacation!
We are so happy we got to "spoil" you. What a great idea traveling with your parents. I cherish every moment I have with my parents now. We are so thankful that we had a part in helping you enjoy your stay in the Great Smoky Mountains.
Centrally located with everything within 15 minutes and everything you need provided even had a corkscrew! Great cabin!
We try to think of everything you might need to help you make this one of the most memorable vacations ever. I just love the location as well. It is far enough away from the strip to avoid being right in the middle of things, yet you can be in Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg or Sevierville in a very short period of time. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
Overall the cabin seemed clean, except for some ants and cobwebs outside at entrance and on deck. Pool table and Air Hockey an A+ for passing time. Magnificent view. Kitchen setup great. Only 12-15min from Parkway.
We are so glad that you had an A+ time on the pool table and air hockey game. We also enjoy these things. But, most of our time is spent looking out over those magnificent views. It sounds like you had a great time in the cabin and exploring the area. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
This was a very long awaited trip to the Smoky Mountains. Picking out the right cabin for our family of four was very important to us. I felt like I looked at hundreds! Broken Spoke was exactly what we had hoped it would be! We wanted to come see the beautiful Smoky Mountains and boy did we ever. I loved waking up each morning to look out the many windows of the back of the cabin on each level with spectacular views! Just beautiful! The cabin was fantastic! I was concerned about having neighbors, but the way the cabin is layed out in the mountain, we never saw our neighbors while enjoying the hot tub or when we were having our morning coffee on the back porch. Watching the clouds and how they changed the appearance of the mountains each day was awesome! Playing pool was fun with our two teenage girls and our air hockey tournament was a hit! Being that we are horse lovers, the theme of the cabin was perfect! Horse and western decorations throughout added to the warmth of the cabin. We wished we could transplant the log cabin, decor and all, back to our home. Perfect distance from all the tourist type areas & close enough to the park entrance. We would come back in a heartbeat! Thank you Broken Spoke for wonderful memories!!
We are so glad we helped you have a great family vacation. I too love the cowboy theme of the cabin. It actually all started coming together when the owners found a wagon wheel with a broken spoke in it. You can see that wagon wheel if you look way up in the living room. We also love the way the cabin is situated sort of out on a point. It does give you the feel that you are miles away from everything and alone with the mountains. We also love the way the builders put in so many wonderful huge windows to take in the views. There is a beautiful view from almost anywhere in the cabin. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
This beautiful log home was exactly as described! It was clean, very comfortable and perfect for our 3 generation family vacation! We contacted the manager a with very small issue and it was handled very quickly by the nicest people ever! We would go and do all of the fun things in the Smoky Mountain area which is close enough by car but loved "coming home" to this peaceful, quiet home away from home. This is perfect for those who don't wish to stay right in the middle of all of the tourist activity of the area yet be close enough to enjoy it all. I would choose this very same cabin again in a heartbeat. It's absolutely gorgeous! My grandchildren, ages 7 and 4, loved the loft room. We all enjoyed the pool table and hot tub. It was a perfect spot for our family.
A three generations family vacation is wonderful. We hope everyone in your party made many lasting memories. It sounds like you really took advantage of all the things to do in the Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg area and still had time to come back and relax at the cabin. We love the way you can be in the middle of all the action in no time. We also love that while in Legacy Mountain Resort, you feel very far away from all that activity.
Beautiful view as seen in photos. We had a great time enjoying the house in the evenings after seeing the sights playing air hockey and pool. Be certain to hot tub early morning to enjoy the view. The house was clean. We had an issue with the hot tub on our second day of arrival but it was taken care of promptly. The owner also had a nice folder inside with travel info. The only thing missing in this rental is internet access. Also, you can zip line within a 1/4 mile of the house at legacy mountain. The guides are great and they run a two line system which is nice to know provided something unexpected happens. My husband and I took our two teenage children and had an awesome time! We both were scared but had an awesome time zipping through spectacular views!
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review. It sounds like you had enough time to see the surrounding area and still took time to enjoy the cabin. My husband always makes a point of having his coffee from the hot tub in the morning. He thinks it is the best way to start out your day. My two teenage children have also enjoyed the zip lining. My son is afraid of heights. It took so coaxing, but he went. Then, he wanted to go again. We are so glad you had such a wonderful time. Broke Spoke now has internet access.
cabin was good sized and views were amazing, all the cabins are very close together so not much privacy outside but you don't see other cabins when looking out at beautiful mountains all around you. at night Gatlinburg and others small towns sparkle on the mountainside's. leconte is beautiful, and make a day hike to the summit at 6600 about, the views are amazing. lots, lots, lots to do in area so plan for as much time as you can. the beds in cabin were comfy, TVs worked good, plenty of pantry space. only problems were broken glass all over parking space and no where else to park. spent 40 mins sweeping glass and broken beer bottles out of the way so I wouldn't have a flat on my vacation, and dead bugs and spider webs. now it was just winter so the dead fly's everywhere has no excuse, from the loft the windows were grossly covered with dust and dead bugs, lots of dirt and crumbs under couches. there is a hornets nest somewhere close by and every time we would try to open dining room windows to enjoy the wonderful mountain air but hornets kept somehow getting in even with screens. with a few simple things this place could be great.
Thank you for that very thorough review of the resort and the area. We wish you had mentioned the issues you were having with the broken glass and the dead bugs while you were at the cabin. We would have sent someone over to clean these things up. The last thing we want is for our guests to work on their vacation. I have not been to the cabin since January. I did notice some bugs under the windows and personally made sure that they were all cleaned up at that time. I am not sure how the bugs keep getting in either. I have the same cleaner for several of my cabins and have never had a bad review because of cleanliness before. As a matter of fact, people usually rave about how clean it is.
We loved our stay at broken spoke!!! The cabin was amazing and it was so easy to communicate with the owners! Very helpful and we would definitely stay at this resort again! Perfect getaway!!
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review. We are so glad you loved your stay. We too feel the cabin is "amazing". We always like to hear that you found it easy to communicate with us. We strive to make our guests stay the best possible Smoky Mountain Vacation.
